Jerry Douglas - Glide (2008)

Más bluegrass de la mano de Dobro. Él mimo nos cuenta que este es el "ultimo trabajo de Jerry Douglas un virtuoso del Resonator (guitarra resonadora o Dobro)gran compsitor y experimentador de su instrumento en estilos como jazz, blues, folk, country, pero donde mas reconocimiento tiene es en el bluegrass.
Nacido en Columbus OH a los 10 años ya tocaba en la banda de su padre su lista de colaboraciones es muy extensa: Béla Fleck, David Grisman, J.D. Crowe & the New South, David Grisman, Ricky Skaggs, etc...(la lista es muy larga)."

Y yo os podria contar que en miles de videos que he visto de blugrass, el que maneja el dobro es él, es increible siempre lo encuentras en un rincón tocando con los grandes. Algo sabra el hombre, no?
Exclente, os lo recomiendo.

Ojo a este disco, si no lo teneis, es imprescindible.

Es un disco del country-supergorup The Highwaymen, formado por Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash y Kris Kristofferson.

Hay 3 discos, uno de ellos es grabación en directo, este creo que es de estudio.

En él escuchareis a estas 4 leyendas del country cantando, a veces en coro, a veces solos, con un grupo "de fondo". Country no tan clasico como suelen hacer, sinó con mas intrumentos, con sonido mas "importante", pero hay muchas versiones de sus grandes exitos, da gusto oir a estos 4 tipos cantando la mitica "big river". Enorme.

Buen country de este hombre de Alabama. Poco conocia de él, pero me sorprendió con este album y par más. Muy bueno.

Uno de los tantos albums de este virtuoso de la guitarra Norman Blake (Tennessee).

Bluegrass tranquilo y sutil. Algunas canciones estan escritas por él mismo, otras son versiones de canciones tradicionales. Muy bueno.

El primer album de esta banda, i mi favorito de Los Angeles, por la que han pasado varios bluesmen. Muy conocida por su cancion "on the road again" aunque esta en concreto no es tipica de su estilo.

Si alguien no tiene este album se lo recomiento, y si os gusta subiré alguno más.

Muy buen grupo de Austin, Texas. Country y Western swing de lo mejor. Sonido "amable" de buen escuchar y variedad en lñas canciones. La primera del disco enregistrada junto a los Blind Boys of Alabama, y la quinta, una version de Marshall Tucker band. Muy buenos.

Este va para mi amigo Sergi, que desde que vió la pelicula "En la cuerda floja" que se aficionó a Johnny Cash.

Si no teneis este disco en la coleccion os lo recomiendo. Creo que hay otro de duetos pero son canciones lentas. En este no hay sus canciones mas conocidas, pero la mayoría son rapidas. Muy bueno

Ed Bruce - Ed Bruce (1980)

Mas country del bueno. Ed Bruce, un tipo que no conocía y que me sorprendió. Country con un buen bajo, el ritmo bien marcado por la bateria, y una voz grave, un tanto parecida a la de Waylon Jennings, como a mi me gusta.

Este es uno de los tantos vinilos que hay de Ed Bruce, este en concreto lo encontré en el blog The Crooner's Corner (excelente web). Compensado en el ritmo de sus canciones, inculyendo la mitica "mammas don't let your babys grow up to be cowboys".

Buen disco de country rock que me trajo de USA y me grabó mi amigo Sospe (muchas gracias). Sonido muy americano, ritmo tranquilo pero con una buena guitarra. Muy bueno.

Vamos con otro de new bluegrass. Sonido tipico de bluegrass, pero especialmente agradable. Siempre a buen ritmo y con la voz de Rigsby, que es de buen escuchar. Excelente, puro bluegrass.

OMD. Una banda de Missouri que concí gracias al blog de archi. Toca un southern rock de lo mejor que he escuchado nunca. Suena bastante a country, pero son el toque rockero del southern y una harmonica fantastica, siempre canciones tranquilas que no cansan para nada. Excelentes, os lo recomiendo. Este es su primer disco, si os gustan subiré más.

Bad Company - Straight Shooter (1975)

Segundo disco de esta banda inglesa de hard rock. COmo en otras ocasiones, solo subiré de momento uno, ya que su discografía esté en varios blogs, y es tonteria repetir contenido.

Solo para que los conozcáis si no los habiais escuchado, o para recordarlos si los teniais perdidos entre otros vinilos. Una de las mejores bandas de hard rock a mi entender, aunque hay muchas de sus canciones demasiado lentas, las otras son impresionantes. Muy buenos.
